Ruined by a Perseid? Of course not! It looks like the Perseid meteor may hit the ruins of Hohenurach castle. However, the visible path of a meteor usually is about 100 km high in the atmosphere. A meteor this size (like a grain of sand) is completely disintegrated into fine dust and distributed in the upper atmosphere. Part of the castle was ruined by lightning into the powder magazine in 1694.
