The view shows the spring sky from the cloister of the medieval monastery of Hirsau
near Calw in the northern Black Forest, Germany. The history of the monastery
dates back over a thousand years, however, most of it was destroyed in 1692.
As usual the square cloister is aligned along the main celestial directions.
Some prominent constellations and planet Saturn can be
labeled.
The tip of Ursa Minor is Polaris, which marks the northern direction.
