Celtic remnants were found in the Swabian Jura close to the villages of Erkenbrechtsweiler, Hülben, and Grabenstetten. A new tower, a museum and an astronomy path are e few of the attractions. However, the night sky is not very dark for astronomical observations. Brightest sources of light pollution are Stuttgart Airport (22 km) and Stuttgart City itself (31 km). The brightness in the zenith was down to 20.82 mag per arcsecond² at about 0:12 CET, 29.08.2024. This is about three times more bright than a natural clear and moonless sky. A factor of 3 means the sky is brightened by 200 %. You may notice the much darker sky into south-eastern direction across the swabian jura. Just 13 km in this direction lies the observing place from the Dark Sky Project Swabian Jura with typical zenith values of around 21.5 mag per arcsecond².

Measurements were obtained with SQM-LU-DL, serial number 2030.
