Panoramic View from Totalp-Hütte at SchesaplanaRätikon, 2385 m | ||||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||||
The Totalp Hut at 2385 m height is on the hike to Schesaplana, the highest summit of the Rätikon at the border
of Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein.
The brightness in the zenith was down to 21.39 mag per arcsecond² at about 3:00 CET, 2.9.2024.
This is about 1.75 times more bright than the usual clear and moonless sky. This is due to light pollution and
the milky way in the zenith at this time. A factor of 1.75 means the sky is brightened by 75 %.
Brightening of the sky can be seen especially into the directions North to West from behind Schesaplana.
There are Lake Constance and the Rhine Valley with dense population
(also see the view from Hochgrat).
The sky in southern direction is pretty dark.
Beside the milky way you may notice the Zodiacal Light in the east and the elusive extension of the Light Bridge
high up in the south. This is dust in the plane of our planetary system scattering the light of our sun.
Measurements were obtained with SQM-LU-DL, serial number 2030.
